Connecting Voices № 2: Candid Stories, Bold Steps, the Power of Community

The second Connecting Voices meeting brought young people together in a safe space where participants could openly discuss their own experiences with rejection, bullying, and the process of adaptation.

The meeting began with an icebreaker—the young people shared moments when they felt “out of place.” These stories immediately created an atmosphere of trust and emphasized that every experience matters.

In small groups, participants discussed integration, stereotypes, and inclusion. Stories from schools, universities, civil society organizations, and workplaces showed that real change begins in local communities and with small but bold steps.

A highlight of the meeting was the “Inspiring Story” segment. Levan from Georgia shared his family’s journey following the occupation of Abkhazia—a story of loss, courage, and recovery. His story served as a reminder that even difficult experiences can inspire others and demonstrate the strength of a community.

The second Connecting Voices meeting served as a space for honest conversations, the exchange of experiences, and the search for solutions for the community. The openness and engagement of the participants created an atmosphere where every story matters and inspires change.

The beYOUnd team thanks all participants for their openness, and our partners for their support and faith in young people
