«Your Voice — Your Power»: Project Launch

When it’s dark around us, people’s stories shine a light.

This is the idea behind the «Your Voice — Your Power» project—a new initiative for young people who want to learn how to speak about themselves, their communities, and their experiences in a way that ensures they are not just heard, but truly understood.

The project is designed for young people aged 16 and older who have experienced relocation or living in a new community, and who are internally displaced persons (IDPs), members of national minorities, or indigenous peoples. It’s for anyone who has ever caught themselves thinking: my story matters, but I don’t know how to tell it.

The following partners joined the project: NGO «Up to Date», NGO «Ave Team» та NGO «TENET» — organizations with deep expertise in the areas of IDPs, the Roma community, Crimean Tatar identity, and linguistic and cultural diversity.

The project kicked off with a preparatory meeting with partners, during which the team agreed on a shared vision and values for the work ahead. The discussion focused not only on organizational matters but also on responsible coverage of sensitive topics, social cohesion free of stereotypes, and the creation of a safe environment for creativity.

«Your Voice — Your Power» isn’t about perfect stories or “correct” words. It’s about real-life experiences, the right to interpret your own journey, and the opportunity to be heard without fear of judgment. Ahead lies training, mentorship, collaborative work on stories, and a final in-person event at the White Church, where these voices will be heard by a wider community.

Recruitment has already begun.

We are looking for the light in your story.

The «Your Voice — Your Power» initiative is part of the Let’s NGO project, which is being implemented by NGO «Ukrainian Professional Development» with support from the National Endowment for Democracy.
